Punctuation is an underestimated area of sinful delight; one wonders how it has escaped the attention  of the authorities. How delicious it is to place a semicolon between two separate yet connected thoughts! What a joyful moment when one inserts commas at both the beginning and end of a parenthetical clause! And when one ventures outside of the accepted norms and uses an ellipsis where there is actually no omitted text, and does so knowing the rule yet willing to creatively break it and take the consequences, the result is pervasively pleasurable …
