Why a doctor’s receptionist needs good communication skills

I phoned my doctor’s office. The new person who answered had somewhat limited English.

“My name is … I’d like to get the name of my orthopedic surgeon, please. Dr C referred me to him five years ago.”

Responses included:

“There’s nothing here and I’ve gone back to 2004.”
“What kind of doctor was it?”
“Was it a bone?”
“What was his name?”
